September 2019 Edition
Welcome to Beauregard 4-H
We are currently meeting with students in clubs throughout the parish presenting 4-H information and distributing enrollment forms. Enrollment is open to any Beauregard youth in the 4th through 12th grade. This is somewhat of a change from previous years.Junior member classification is 4th through 6th grade, Intermediate member is 7-8th grades and Senior member is 9-12 grade. To be a bonified 4-H member, a current enrollment card and club dues must be paid each school year. Those wishing to show livestock and participate in shooting sports must be either a club member in their school or a 4-H member at large in order to participate in additional project clubs. The enrollment card has been streamlined to allow members to select project areas and not a specific book. Please complete all member information on page one and read and sign the annual hold harmless and release waiver.New for this year, we need a parent email address for each child enrolled. This will serve as a streamline way to communicate with 4-H families. If you do not have an email address, there are several free email servers that you may use to sign up for an email address.Enrollment forms for youth and volunteers will also be available through a link on facebook and our AgCenter/Beauregard webpage. Each club will set the club dues amount for each club and club dues and completed enrollment forms are due to each particular club leader before the October 2019 Club meeting of that particular club. Those wishing to receive a specific project book should visit the 4-H Office at 203 West Third Street to select and purchase project books for $6.00 each or a project pamphlet for $1.00 each. The educational focus for the 2019-20 4-H Club year is Life Smarts and will cover topics of Self-esteem, Decision Making, Diversity, Bullying, Conflict Resolution, Work Ethics/Responsibility and Risky Behavior. We hope to include topic information in each of our Newsletters. Please encourage all of your friends who are not enrolled in 4-H to check out and see what 4-H has to offer. If they do not have an opportunity to join at school club, have them contact Mr. Mike to become a 4-H Member at Large.Remember anyone who participates in showing livestock and shooting sports must be a currently enrolled 4-H member.
