Gardenia Problems

Mr. Gill,

Recently I noticed a weird barnacle-like growth on my gardenia. At first the "barnacles" were only on the leaves, but they have recently spread to the infrastructure. Could you identify this for me and possibly recommend a solution?

As always, thank you.

- Brandon

These are Florida wax scale insects sucking the sap out of the plant. You may also notice some black sooty mold. Click here for information on scale control. Your gardenia is very heavily infested. Begin control efforts immediately.
