East Carroll Parish

Located in the northeastern corner of Louisiana, East Carroll Parish is the first parish you will visit when entering the state from Arkansas. East Carroll Parish is best known for its beautiful seven-mile, cypress tree-lined, oxbow lake that gives the town of Lake Providence its name. Located in the fertile, southern Mississippi Valley Delta, about 74% of the land in East Carroll Parish is dedicated to agriculture. The agriculture industry ranges from forestry to row crops. Plant enterprises total $1,493,680. The Lake Providence Port is one of the top 20 U.S. inland ports and ships over 1.3 million tons annually. The parish seat, Lake Providence, has a population of 3,076; total parish population is 6,829.
