Students in St. Martin Parish 4-H submitted their end of the year portfolios which contained their records from their past year in the 4-H program.
This year’s theme was “Ignite Your Visit.”

The 4-H Cloverbud Gazette is the monthly newsletter for our 4-H Program in St. Martin Parish for third graders. It provides information about upcoming events and activities. The newsletter is published from September to May.
St. Martin Parish 4-H Achievement Day was held on April 20, 2015, at Breaux Bridge High School. Exhibits were judged and results are listed for each grade division.
On March 26-29, 2015, 4-H’ers from around south Louisiana gathered to participate in the 4-H Southern Regional Match. Junior and senior 4-H’ers competed in Shotgun (trap, skeet, sporting clays, and modified trap), BB gun, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, Modified FITA Archery, National Archery, and Smallbore .22 Rifle. Some of these included team competition as well. All contests followed strict guidelines and safety rules. Competitions took place at Hunter’s Run Gun Club in Port Allen and at the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Range and the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA. In all of the contests, 4-H’ers could qualify for the state competition which will be held April 23-26, 2015, in north Louisiana. Trained volunteers were on hand to work as range masters, range officers, safety coaches, scorers, trappers, station leaders, test givers, and graders. Many thanks are given to these helpful and resourceful people. Without them, 4-H programs such as this event would not be possible. Awards were given at the end of each day. Several winners are members of the St. Martin Parish 4-H Shooting Sports Program. The results can be found at the link below.

On March 7, 2015 St. Martin Parish 4-H sponsored the second annual "Gleaux" 4-Health 5K race and family fun run.
The St. Martin Parish Rabbit Show was held on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
The St. Martin 4-H & FFA Livestock Show was held on January 24-25, 2015.
The purpose of the Outstanding 4-H Club Member Award is to reward 4-H members who have shown exceptional work within the 4-H program, especially at the parish, district and state level. Outstanding 4-H Club Members shall be members who have participated in numerous 4-H activities and/or contests, community service projects, and who have turned in their completed 4-H Portfolio and this application from by February 27, 2015. Applications will be handed out at the January 4-H Club Meeting. Please complete the application which also can be found at the link below for each grade level and return to the 4-H Office by February 27, 2015 to be considered for this award.
St. Martin Parish 4-H portfolios for 2014-2015 are due to the 4-H office by February 27, 2015. A blank portfolio for each grade level can be found here for you to print.
St. Martin Parish 4-H Super Saturday Contest Day is on January 31, 2015. There will be a Rabbit Show, a Talent Show, Cookery Contests and a 4-Health Poster Contest.

4-H University was held on June 17-20, 2014 on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. 26 4-H members attended from St. Martin Parish.

4-H'ers from St. Martin Parish participated at the 4-H Southern Regional Match, on March 13-16, 2014.
Twenty-nine St. Martin Parish 4-H Shooting Sports members participated in the Ascension Invitational Shoot on March 29, 2014.
St. Martin Parish 4-H Shooting Sports 4-H members attend the 6th Annual Crying Eagle Invitational on February 15, 2014.
The 37th Annual Acadiana District Livestock Show was held on January 29-February 1, 2014 at the UL Lafayette Blackham Coliseum.
Thirty-eight St. Martin Parish 4-H Shooting Sports members participated in the East Baton Rouge Invitational Shoot on February 8, 2014.
The 2014 Parish Livestock Show was held on January 17-18 at the Livestock Show Barn.
The 4-H Super Saturday Contest Day includes the following contest: Rabbit Show, Talent Show, Ground Beef & Seafood Cookery, Commodity Ambassador Speech to be held on January 11, 2014.
During National 4-H Week, October 6-12, 2013 St. Martin Parish 4-H celebrated 75 years of making the best better.
The fifth annual 4-H Fall Fest was held on October 12. The pet show had 64 participants, 41 entries in the cookery contest and 100 entries in the decorated pumpkin contest.
4-H Fall Fest is the first big 4-H contest day of the school year. It will be held at the 4-H office on Saturday October 12. Read the details here.

4-H University is the premier 4-H event of the year for 4-H members 13 and older. If you turned 13 by December 31, 2012 you are old enough to attend.
