All pull tabs will be collected in the St. Mary Parish 4-H office by April 16, 2013!

What is the Pull Tab Program?
The St. Mary parish 4-H Program has been involved with the pull tab program for five years now! This community service experience is a fun and easy way to help others. It is one of Ronald McDonald House Charities most popular fundraisers and its support just keeps growing. Through the continued support of individuals, corporations, and organizations the Pull Tab Program brings in an average of $8,000 a year.

How do Pull Tabs Help the House?
Unlike the urban legend states, pull tabs do not support medical treatment of any kind including chemotherapy or dialysis; however, pull tabs do support the operations of the Ronald McDonald House. This includes purchasing food for the family food pantry, cleaning supplies, and providing van transportation for the families.

Although a simple pull tab may appear to be insignificant, it is in fact the most valuable part of the can. Unlike the rest of the can, the tab is pure aluminum and therefore generates the most money from recycling.

All pull tabs collected by the St. Mary Parish 4-H Program are sent to the Ronald McDonald House of Greater New Orleans. To view the house, click here.
