WORK LOCATION: Julian C. Miller Hall and Burden Center, School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Sciences, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, LA
Position Description: The incumbent will report to the extension vegetable specialist. This position will assist with vegetable garden programs including field trial implementation, co-hosting vegetable workshops, field days and trainings. The incumbent will help develop videos and written publications related to vegetable production. The successful candidate will be asked to provide lectures for various garden groups throughout the state. Some night, weekend duties, and in-state travel will be required. Routine duties will include outdoor field work, data collection, assistance with workshops and garden lectures, newsletter coordination, and data analysis. In addition, the incumbent will have the responsibility of assisting student workers and graduate students with special projects to accomplish the duties outlined above.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A B.S. or M.S. degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, General Agriculture, or Agriculture Economics. Farming and or research experience is highly desirable.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
