Research Associate Specialist - East Baton Rouge Parish - R00069379

(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through February 29, 2023. Continuation will be dependent on funding, job performance, and continued need for the appointment.)

Work Location: School of Renewable Natural Resources, LSU Agricultural Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Nature of Work: We are seeking a Research Associate to assist classifying coastal wetland vegetation using Google Earth Engine and ArcGis Pro. This work supports a large-scale marshbird survey of coastal Louisiana.

Qualification Requirements: An M.S. is preferred but a B.S. with appropriate experience also will be considered. Applicant must possess experience in some, or preferably all, of the following: (1) experience using Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS Pro to work with remotely sensed data, (2) experience with database management and programming, (3) experience working with spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and project reports, and (4) ability to work well independently within a collaborative team. Previous field experience in coastal wetlands is preferred.

Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
