The Northeast Louisiana Beef and Forage Field Day will be held from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday, September 16 at Goldmine Plantation in Mangham, Louisiana. Registration will be at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Field day topics will be Herd Health for the Cow-Calf Producer presented by Dr. Bat Brantley of Union Veterinary Clinic, Effects of Cow Disposition presented by LSU AgCenter agent Jason Holmes, Soil Fertility presented by LSU AgCenter agent Wink Alison, and Matching Cow Nutritional Needs with Hay and Supplements presented by Dr. Guillermo Scaglia, Professor, LSU AgCenter Iberia Research Station.
Goldmine Plantation is located at 188 Cummins Road in Mangham, Louisiana. If you are traveling from Winnsboro, Louisiana take Highway 618, Lone Cedar Road, six miles and veer right or north onto Highway 135 and travel 1.6 miles to Goldmine Plantation. If traveling from Monroe, Louisiana take Highway 15 East to Alto then turn right or south at Alto onto Highway 135. Travel 11.2 miles to Goldmine Plantation. If traveling from Mangham, Louisiana, from Highway15-US 425 take Highway 132 west for 5.7 miles, then turn left or south onto Highway 135 and travel 8.5 miles to Goldmine.
