Traditionally, 4-H University has been held on LSU’s campus and highly anticipated by 4-H members from across the state. Albeit this year’s contest was held completely virtually, students overcame the challenge of preparing for their contests and competing virtually. They held true to this year’s theme of “Ignite Your Visit.”
This year’s award winners were as follows:
Other participants were:
Still yet to compete in Livestock Judging is Kade Huval. A small number of the contests will hopefully be held in person in late August.
In addition to state competition, students also vied for positions to serve on Louisiana 4-H State Leadership Boards. This year’s results are: Josie Blanchard, Louisiana State Citizenship Board, State Shooting Sports Ambassadors: Abbey and Billy Poirier, and Ali Fontenot, Louisiana State Executive Board Southwest Region Representative.
Not only were all competitions conducted virtually, but evening assemblies, talent show, fashion show, and even a dance party was held virtually for all participants. St. Martin Parish 4-H Agents, Mrs. Hope Guidry and Mrs. Hannah Devall, are so proud of the work these 4-H members have put into preparing for their contests as well as overcoming the challenge of competing virtually. These 4-H members are a great example of what can be accomplished when St. Martin Parish 4-H members “Ignite Their Vision.”
