The urban 4-H program of Jefferson Parish offers programming for youth in 4-12th grades to build STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math), Healthy Living, and Leadership /Citizenship skills.
Through non-formal, research-based, experiential educational activities, 4-H participants gain knowledge and life skills that enable them to become positive, productive, capable, and compassionate members of their communities.
We offer classroom visits, “4-H Club in a Class”, before/after school 4-H clubs, competitions, service projects, trips and conferences!
This year, we are offering "Nutrition form the Garden", a six session, nutrition education program for youth in grades 4th-6th.
"Coastal Wetlands of Louisiana", is available for youth in grades 7th-12th.
Additionally, we have a 4-H Junior Leader Club for teens, which will focus on leadership, job seeing skills, and community service projects.
As 4-H club members, students will be eligible to participate in our many local, regional, and state 4-H activities. Calendars and regular newsletters will be distributed announcing all opportunities.
Contact the Jefferson 4-H Office for more information, schedule a meeting, or register your school for 4-H.
