Hey teens! Are you ready to make a difference in your community? Do you want to meet new friends? Are you interested in healthy living? If so, the HYPE Coalition may be for you. HYPE stands for Healthy Young People Empowerment and is a new initiative of the LSU AgCenter Ouachita Parish Extension Office.

Our team is one of many teams throughout the state participating in the HYPE Project. The HYPE Project was developed by Eat Smart, Move More South Carolina (ESMMSC) and its partners to empower youth to take action to make their communities healthier. In Ouachita Parish, HYPE is a partnership among SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, and Ouachita 4-H.

HYPE will kick off in July 2021 and is open to youth ages 13 to 18. If you would like to have fun and make your community a better place, sign up now. For more information or to sign up, contact the LSU AgCenter Ouachita Parish Extension Office at 318-323-2251 or email one of the HYPE leaders: Cathy Agan - cagan@agcenter.lsu.edu, Kim Butcher - kbutcher@agcenter.lsu.edu, or Tara Garlington - tgarlington@agcenter.lsu.edu. Visit us on Facebook at LSU AgCenter Ouachita Parish or at Ouachita 4-H to learn more about our programs.

HYPE Meeting Dates: July 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29, and 30, 2021. All July meetings will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Meetings will be held in different locations in Ouachita Parish

If you need an ADA accommodation for your participation, please contact Ouachita Parish Extension Office at (318) 323-2251 at least two weeks prior to the event. The LSU AgCenter and LSU provides equal opportunities in programs and employment.
