Our 2020-2021 4-H year has started. If you have already joined thank you! If not, we now have an online enrollment and payment site. Please access the links below and follow the instructions. After you have completed enrolling your youth make sure to visit our payment site to pay your 4-H enrollment dues.

To join any 4-H project clubs or events, youths must first be a 4-H member. Enrollment is free for K-3rd grades and $5.25 for 4th-12th grade.

Please note that by signing up this does not automatically enroll you in your school club. You will have to join your school 4-H club through your school.

Challenge Camp

Youth will be participating in high ropes course, canoeing/kayaking, outdoor skills programs, and 4-H day of service programs.

**Registration Deadline: November 11th**
: December 5th
Who: 7th and 8th graders. (Preference will be given to 7th graders)
Only 4 spots available this year.
Where: New Orleans City Park
Cost: $15 dollars- This will include lunch, snack, and t-shirt
Departure: 6:45 AM
Return: 6:00 PM
Departure and Return location- TBA (in Baton Rouge)

Please fill out the registration application using the button below. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. If 7th graders do not fill up the spots then 8th graders will be awarded the spots; therefore, 8th graders may fill out the form as well. Your 4-H agent will contact you if your child is awarded a spot. Then you will receive an invoice to pay for camp and forms to complete for the day camp.

Entry Form Deadline is December 6th For District and Parish Show

Entry forms and registration papers will be collected at these meetings. Please come with your form(s) already completed. District fees are due at that time. Payment by check or online only. To access entry forms please click button below. If you are unable to attend mail your documents to the EBRP 4-H office prior to the deadline. Rabbit and Poultry forms will be emailed later.

If you haven't already joined, join 4-H first. Complete the Livestock and Backyard Buddies registration form. Then go to our online payment site to order club shirts for 2020-2021 year.

Broiler Orders
We are ordering Broilers now for LSU shows.
Cost $0.50 per chick.
Deadline to order is November 20th.
Pick up of chicks is January 5th.

Parish Livestock Show- January 22nd – 23rd at Parker Coliseum, Baton Rouge, LA

South Central District Show- February 4th – 6th at Lamar Dixon, Gonzales, LA

Entry fees:
$15 per animal - Swine, Beef, Sheep, Dairy, Goats
$7 per rabbit - Rabbits
$12 per pen - Rabbit meat pen
$7 per bird (no limit) - Exhibition Birds
$12 per pen (maximum limit- 2 pens) - Broiler pen

Exhibitors with registered breeding large animals must turn in their registration papers for their animals. Please make sure they animals papers are in the child's names.

LSU State Show - February 13th - 20th at Lamar Dixon, Gonzales, LA

Entry fees: $40 dollars per exhibitor ( due at State show by check or money order)
poultry entry forms for the state show will be due in December.

State Rabbit Show - March 5th - 6th at Evacuation Facility, LSU Alexandria Campus

Registration Deadline is in February.

March 5 - Rabbits may enter building 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
March 6 - 6:30 AM Barn will open

Horse Club


The next Horse Club meeting will be November 15th at 2:30 PM at BREC Shady Park Arena. It will start with the business meeting and there will be a clinic to follow. If you would like to be added to the group me please email your 4-H agent.

Jr. Leaders

Please join us for the next Jr. Leaders meeting November 11th at 5:00 PM held virtual using Microsoft Teams. To register visit our page and complete the registration form.

We will also have club shirts for Jr. Leaders which may be purchased using the online payment site. We still have to design the club shirts for the year.

Jr. Leaders has a Remind App. Use class code @leadebr4h to receive club deadlines and updates.

Tech Club

The Tech club is for youth in grades 7th-12th. Due to covid-19 meetings are currently held virtually. Our next meeting is Sunday, Nov 8, 2020 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Please email the Tech Club at la4htechclub@gmail.com for additional information.

The Louisiana 4-H Tech Club has recently taken on the Where’s the Food Project, which aims to locate places in our community where healthy food is scarce. Anyone is invited to participate in this project by visiting the LA 4-H Tech Club website and filling out the survey on the home screen! The survey will ask you for the details and locations of places near you where there is access to healthy food. The more data you submit, the more points will show up on the dashboard. We need your help to figure out where the healthy food is in our community!

EBR 4-H Parish Cookery

We will have our annual Parish Cookery Competition on November 23, 2020 at Nelson Memorial on LSU Campus. This event is for our youth who love to cook and want to compete with their dishes. This is a qualifying event for the Regional Competition that is scheduled in the Spring. We will have lots of fun activities for youth to do while their dishes are being judged.

Registration Deadline is November 19th at 3:00 PM Please use the button below to register for the event.

Register for Parish Cookery Competition

This event will be on November 23rd from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Nelson Memorial on LSU campus.

Since they will be doing activities outside, please have your child wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Parents are welcome to stay or drop off their competitor for the day. Please have masks for you and your child.

Make sure to follow rules for cookery and bring 2 copies of each dish recipe.

The youth will get a special visit with Mike the Tiger, talk to LSU cross-country coach, tour the meat lab and LSU food pantry, watch a food demonstration, do yoga, play games and much more!

Tentative schedule:

Honor Cord

Deadline January 28th

Seniors please apply for your Honor Cord to wear at graduation!

The 4-H Honor Cord Award recognizes 4-H members who are graduating seniors.

For 4-H youth to receive the 4-H Honor Cord, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a currently enrolled 4-H member and in good standing
  • Must be a graduating senior
  • Must have been enrolled in 4-H for at least 3 years of their high school career
  • Must have participated in at least one state sponsored 4-H program in the past 3 years, or demonstrated exemplary parish-level program involvement
  • Must complete the application form by the deadline

Shooting Sports Instructor Training

If anyone would like to become a instructor for shooting sports please contact your 4-H agent. Deadline to register is November 10th.

This training is the only Level One 4-H Shooting Sports Trainings that will take place in 2020. A Jump Drive with book information and letter will be sent to you about 1-2 weeks prior to training when you register.

November 21 – Air Rifle/BB/Rifle and Shotgun (Pollock)
November 21-22 (2 day training) – Hunting Skills (Pollock)
December 12 - Air Pistol/Pistol, Archery, Coordinator and Muzzle Loading (Pollock)
