Job Description: Dr. Todd Monroe’s team is looking for a full-time Research Associate in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. The duties for this position are: (1) carry out research projects funded by NIH such as design, fabrication (microfabrication), testing, and evaluation of biomedical microelectromechanical systems (BioMEMS) for aquatic biomedical models; (2) laboratory management; (3) training and supervision of undergraduate student workers or researchers; (4) participation in manuscript writing.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering fields. Applicant must have experience in laboratory research, computer-aided design, and instrumentation. Experience with 3D printing, simulation, microfabrication, circuit design, or programming is preferred. Successful candidates must be highly self-motivated, ready for independent research and challenges, and be able to clearly communicate in spoken and written formats. Preferred Qualifications are a Master’s degree in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering fields.
