Work Location: Department of Facilities Planning, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, La. This position reports to the Associate Director of Facilities Planning. This department oversees the planning, construction, maintenance, improvement, and protection of all of the AgCenter’s property and facilities. This includes: long range planning and master site planning for the AgCenter, administration of design services and project management for all construction/renovation projects. Department represents AgCenter interest and provides design guidance and project management for Capital Outlay projects and with outside design firms of projects, provides administrative support for the AgCenter’s research and extension programs, and develops and maintains design standards as it relates to AgCenter facilities.
The department also oversees the Safety and Risk Management Programs for the LSU AgCenter. This involves developing and maintaining procedures to reduce the chances of loss to AgCenter employees, property, and equipment. This position will provide management support for these functions.
Job Description: Responsibilities for this position will include the following areas: General management of the LSU AgCenter’s Safety and Risk Management program, implementation of state risk management policies and procedures. Oversight of annual risk management compliance audits and site inspections. Development and delivery of selected employee safety training. Claims management of general liability, and property claims. Acquisition of unit Certificates of Insurance from the Louisiana State Office of Risk Management as required. Management and reporting of real property inventory, including actively leased properties. Other Duties: Performs other tasks as assigned by the Associate Director of Facilities Planning.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, or related field with coursework in Risk and Insurance preferable, plus 3 years related experience. Other degrees may be accepted if combined with a minimum of 3 years directly related experience or with significant closely related coursework. Knowledge of structured Safety Programs is desirable. Desire experience involving risk management programs, and facility administration; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be willing to acquire a Certified Risk Management certification paid for by the LSU Agricultural Center.
