The purpose of the 4-H Horse project is to enable youth to develop life skill and develop knowledge about horses and the horse industry. Horse project life skills can include: leadership, initiative, self-reliance, sportsmanship, responsibility and compassion for animals and people.

4-Hers with Horse Projects:

  • Become familiar with how to apply animal science principles to live production
  • Establish strong foundation of knowledge in breeding and management, nutrition and animal health
  • Develop integrity, sportsmanship, decision-making capabilities and public speaking skills through participation in various horse related project opportunities
